AUGUST: Pinwheels for Peace will be made during art time.
SEPTEMBER: Color Butterflies. Students will learn about Primary & Secondary Colors. NAStandards: 1,3,5.
OCTOBER: Los Dias de los Muertes. Students in 1-3 will watch a video about this Mexican Holiday known to us as All Saints & All Souls Days. Students in First Grade will learn about positive & negative space by creating Papel Picado. NAStandards: 1-6.
NOVEMBER-DECEMBER: Students will learn about Landscape & Genre Painting. We will look at paintings of Harvest scenes & scenes of celebration. Students will do a preliminary drawing of a Celebration Scene of their choosing. These will be painted on provided paper for our very first Kid's Art Fair. Students will also create a Rudolph Face for Christmas. NAStandards: 1-6.
