AUGUST: Students will be creating their pinwheel for the Pinwheels for Peace project.
SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER: Color Peacocks. Students will learn about color & complimentary colors using oil pastels & paper plates. Focus will be on line, color, shape & pattern.

Los Dias de los Muertes. Students will be learning about this Mexican holiday which is celebrated at Halloween. The students will be creating Calacas, skeletons with hats! We will link science and religion with this project. NAStandards: 1-6.
NOVEMBER-DECEMBER: Still-Life Paintings. Students will learn how to draw & then paint a still-life set up in the room. Focusing on first blocking in the basic forms, shapes & lines, students will learn how light & value help make drawings & paintings look realistic. The paintings will be done on paper provided for our first Kid's Art Fair in the Spring.
